Everyone with an interest in weight loss surgery, also known as BARIATRIC SURGERY is invited to attend an informational seminar. Our upcoming seminars are on the 1st Tuesday of every month. Dr. Fanelli serves as the Director of Surgical Endoscopy for Berkshire Medical Center. Fanelli oversees the education of surgical residents learning endoscopic surgery and GI endoscopy, and has arranged for installation of the Simbionix Virtual Reality Clinical Simulator at Berkshire Medical Center. He uses this state of the art device to instruct surgeons in training before they begin developing a clinical experience. Fanelli credits this device with increasing patient safety.
Dr. Fanelli is featured in the "Guide to America's Top Surgeons" published by the Consumers' Research Council of America. Fanelli is honored for his work in Gastrointestinal Surgery, Minimally Invasive Surgery, and GI Endoscopy. This is the second time that Dr. Fanelli has been honored by inclusion in this compendium.
Dr. Fanelli was the region's first surgeon to offer the Procedure for Prolapse and Hemorrhoids (PPH), also known as stapled proctopexy/hemorrhoidopexy. Trained by a renowned colorectal surgeon, Fanelli has performed this procedure successfully with excellent outcomes. Dr. Fanelli is now a regional instructor, teaching other surgeons this valuable technique. See the section on Hemorrhoidopexy for more complete information, and contact Dr. Fanelli or Dr. Lederman for an evaluation. Hemorrhoid symptoms can now be treated effectively with less pain than with traditional surgery!
